A little over a month ago, I went to say goodby to a friend. As I got to the place that my friend was, I saw a lot of people that I haven’t seen in a great number of years. I’m not very good at writing down what I feel but this was one of the goodbys that will be forever remembered. The friend that I went to say goodby to was Mr. Larry Caster. Being there showed me the true meaning of respect, loyalty, love, caring, pride, and honor. From Mr. Roy Kurban, who gave the best farewell speech that I’ve ever heard (along with a few jokes), to Mr. Caster’s family, to the many black belts and friends, to the officers that took care of traffic out of respect for Scott, there was nothing there but love.
As I sit here to try and put my feeling down on paper, I wonder, just how great this man was to have so many friends to show so much love and respect.
We all have our own way of dealing with our losses, I hope that while dealing with the loss of the physical Larry Caster, please remember the spiritial Larry Caster(fun loving and keeping stuff going).
It was great seeing all the old friends again but his time lets do it before we pass on, I’ll start, my email address is lee_cowboy1956@yahoo.com.

Until we all can bow with honor,
Lee McDowell
P.S. The final bow out will be forever one of the things that I will cherish. Thanks to you all for allowing me to be a part of it with you.

Well just got back from Linda's Denley tournament, it was really was great to see George Minshew again after all these years ,Billy Kelly was there,Eric O'Neal ,Daryl Stewart,Zufi Amed,Chris Minshew, and a slew of other great Texas Champions showed up .
Linda gave out Bikes to all the 1st place kids and supported the Museum as she has for Ten years plus!
She has payed his entry fee since he was six, in fact she has never charged me or Garett a entry fee to her event ,shes says "I just want you show up and do your thing" she is very special to the Lee family and always will be .

Master Denley back in the 80's would drive 40 miles one way to my studio and fight, all men ,all Black Belts,Men like Ernie 'Radar' Smith, Steve Fotenote, Louis Valquesz, Al Garza, Covert Blackledge, Kevin Scott,Don Mullins ,Chris Mc Rae,James Vernon ,Jimmy "Gato" Tabares,Kevin Roy, Cris Klecka,George "Lighting "Sorrell and anybody else who wanted to fight on Thursday's,
We would put our names in a hat and draw two names they would fight ,three minutue's,She was the only lady that would show up and it was brutal and real ! Those were the days my friend!!, Those were the Days!

Just got back from my friends funeral,Master Larry Caster, what a great man and mentor ,his son scott is my friend and we talk a lot.
I have given him power of the pen to tell the Texas Tales and how it was part of America's Rich sport karate history in the Museum of Sport Karate .

Mr Steen gave me his blessing on the Museum and Mr. Burleson wants to be part of the Museum deeper When Master Mullins and Master Wren saw the logo, Master Wren said "it's looks like Skipper is running!"
and then Master Mullins retorted and said if I was running you were ducking!!
You can tell these guys love each other with much passion .

I got to hug and kiss on the cheek a lot of my old friends like Skipper Mullins ,James Toney , Ishmael Robles , Tim Kirby , Raymond McCallum ,Steve Sosa ,Lee McDowell, Mickey Fisher, Roy Kurban, Jim Chote, , Troy Dorsey, Steve Selby, Duane Ethington, Keith Ince ,Jenifer Branch, J Pat Burleson ,it was a special group of Karate men ,we gave one final bow out to Master Caster lead by Scott Caster ,we bowed out one final last time to a great teacher , martial artist and friend.

I have become friends with a Roy Kurban protoge John Paul Mitchell ,I call him JP and he has great potential,I will give him to Garett and J dog, they will get him tournament ready ,I believe Jason Holmes is one of the greatest players to come out of Texas in a long time ,Rated twice as Number one in the Top Texas Ten Ratings and now rated number one in Texas in 2010.
Someone needs to Challenge him!!!
